Control Alcohol Coach Of The Year - Sandra Parker

Just the Tonic Coaching Wins Control Alcohol Coach of the Year 2025

I’m delighted to announce that Just the Tonic Coaching has been awarded Control Alcohol Coach of the Year 2025 by the Greater London Enterprise Awards—marking an incredible three consecutive years of receiving this recognition. This continued acknowledgment reflects the effectiveness of our approach in helping high-achieving professionals gain complete control over their alcohol intake without feeling deprived.

When I started this journey, I never expected to receive such recognition, but this achievement represents so much more than personal accolades—it’s a testament to the transformative power of the right approach to alcohol control.

What This Award Means to Me

Receiving the Control Alcohol Coach of the Year award for the third consecutive year is genuinely meaningful because it acknowledges the consistent approach I’ve developed specifically for successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and high achievers. This continued recognition shows that our methodology resonates with both clients and industry experts. These are individuals who are thriving in most areas of their lives but struggling with one persistent challenge: their relationship with alcohol.

Unlike traditional recovery programs, my clients don’t see themselves as “alcoholics.” They’re functional, accomplished people who have simply found that their alcohol consumption has shifted from sociable enjoyment to a daily crutch for unwinding, de-stressing, and taking the edge off their busy, demanding lives.

The Journey That Led to This Recognition

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of fabulous clients through their transformation journey. What makes me proudest is our remarkable success rate: 92% of clients achieve 30 days or longer alcohol-free by the end of our 11-week program—and they’re not relying on willpower to get there.

This isn’t about white knuckling through cravings or forcing yourself to abstain. It’s about fundamentally shifting your relationship with alcohol so that you no longer want or need it. My clients don’t feel deprived—they feel liberated.

Understanding the Real Problem

Many of my clients come to me consuming anywhere from 3-4 bottles of wine per week to 14 bottles weekly. For many, their consumption increased significantly during COVID when staying at home became the norm, and they’ve been unable to reduce their intake since.

These are middle-class professionals who prefer quality wines, often drinking alone at home after the children have gone to bed, sometimes concealing the extent of their consumption from partners and family. They’re using alcohol to numb uncomfortable emotions including:

  • Work stress and pressure
  • The challenge of juggling family and career
  • Relationship issues or loneliness
  • Anxiety about aging parents
  • General overwhelm from their busy lives

The problem isn’t lack of willpower—it’s that they’ve been conditioned to believe alcohol is necessary for relaxation and stress relief.

The Just the Tonic Difference

What sets Just the Tonic Coaching apart is our understanding that high-functioning professionals need a different approach. Traditional AA-style programs don’t resonate with people who haven’t “hit rock bottom” and don’t identify with the typical recovery narrative.

Our 11-week transformation program focuses on:

Mindset Transformation Over Willpower

Instead of fighting cravings, we help clients see alcohol for what it really is—understanding the conditioning that made them believe they needed it in the first place.

Daily Support and Accountability

Clients receive daily support through our WhatsApp group, weekly group coaching calls, and seven individual one-to-one sessions. This level of support ensures no one feels alone in their journey.

Education and Awareness

Six weeks of daily modules that reveal the truth about alcohol’s effects, common emotional triggers, and practical strategies for managing stress and emotions without relying on alcohol.

Like-Minded Community

Our clients are surrounded by others at different stages of the same journey—successful professionals who understand the unique challenges of maintaining high performance while addressing alcohol dependency.

Real Transformation Stories

The true measure of this award’s significance lies in the transformations I’ve witnessed. Take Jo, one of my clients who was drinking two bottles of wine daily. She described her transformation:

“I was completely tied to alcohol as my crutch and my friend. I knew the science, I knew it was hurting my body, my relationship with my daughter, and my health. I honestly thought I’d die if I didn’t stop, but I didn’t know how to stop.”

Through our program, Jo not only gained control over alcohol but discovered a new version of herself:

“I’m the mum I expected to be. I’m lighter and brighter, more engaging. My daughter gets all of that—the fun, authentic me has come back. I can look myself in the mirror again, and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved.”

Why This Approach Works

The key to our success lies in addressing the root causes rather than just the symptoms. We don’t tell clients to “just stop drinking.” Instead, we:

  1. Challenge beliefs about alcohol’s benefits
  2. Provide alternative stress management tools
  3. Build emotional awareness and processing skills
  4. Create sustainable lifestyle adjustments
  5. Develop strong accountability frameworks
  6. Foster mindset shifts through education

The Broader Impact

This award recognition comes at a time when more professionals are questioning their relationship with alcohol. The pandemic normalised heavy drinking at home, and many are now realising they need support to regain control.

Looking Forward

Winning Control Alcohol Coach of the Year for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025) feels like validation of the work we’re doing together—myself and every client who has trusted me with their journey. This recognition reflects the effectiveness of our approach and reinforces my commitment to supporting high-functioning professionals with their alcohol concerns.

This recognition will be featured on the SME News website, which has 7 million annual impressions and over 200,000 monthly users, providing lasting recognition for the important work we’re doing.

My vision is to establish Just the Tonic Coaching as the go-to program for alcohol control among professionals globally. I want to reach more high achievers who are struggling in silence, believing they have to choose between their successful lifestyle and their wellbeing.

What This Means for You

If you’re reading this and recognising yourself in these descriptions—if you’re successful in most areas of your life but feel out of control when it comes to alcohol—know that you’re not alone, and more importantly, you’re not broken.

You don’t need to:

  • Hit rock bottom before seeking help
  • Identify as an “alcoholic”
  • Sign a sober pledge or commit to never drinking again
  • Give up your social life or professional success
  • Rely on willpower alone
  • Feel ashamed about your struggles

What you do need is the right approach, proper support, and evidence-based strategies that work specifically for high-functioning professionals. You don’t need to sign a sober pledge or commit to never drinking again—this is simply about taking back control and making conscious choices about alcohol rather than feeling like it controls you.
