Dale Testimonial

How much were you drinking and what problems was it causing?

I did not recognise myself anymore. Progressively over the years of a couple of glasses of wine socially to a bottle on my own with a few gin tins to top up. I knew I didn’t want to live my life this way when I started to drink during the day too. It was like I’d hit the ‘so what’ button. I wasn’t drinking for enjoyment anymore but just to get away from it all and reward myself by flooring the accelerator of drinking. (as Sam and Ellie would say the F&*k it button 😊)

What was the key reason you wanted to change- what motivated you?

ALWAYS feeling awful physically and mentally, the cycle of recovering from the effects physically and tormenting myself mentally for not having the strength to moderate. I regularly asked myself the question ‘what is wrong with you?’ My motivation was to be a better version of myself for myself, my partner and a better role model for my two daughters.

How did you discover me?

Recovering from a hangover I tapped into a search engine ‘Am I an alcoholic’ and it brought me to the JTT video explaining the addictive nature of alcohol. I admitted I needed help and immediately booked a session with Sandra.

Were you sceptical this method would work for you?

Not really, I started the programme with a blind hope that it would help and I knew deep down I could not do it on my own. The judgement free programme along with the great group support was invaluable.

You have been to a few social events where you are the only one not drinking. What has that been like?

The first couple of occasions it was hard to navigate the champagne receptions and questions from peers or strangers on why I was not drinking, even feeling left out in a round. However I have become more confidant in my resolve at events. It has become a joy to know that I will be fully engaged in conversations, being able to truly listen and connect with people personally. The best part is being able to remember the connections without worrying about what I may or may not have said or done to embarrass myself. Of course fully enjoying the following day with a clear head with no anxiety.

What did you try before to cut down or have a break from alcohol?

Willpower, which was short-lived and made me twice as likely to drink more.

What difference has being alcohol free made to your life?

Being present and the clarity and calm of thought to deal with every day with or without challenges. I am grateful that alcohol is now insignificant in my daily life which has made my world more open to new BIG changes and yet still enjoying the small things too.

What would you say to someone thinking of signing up to work with me?

I can honestly say it is one of the best rewards I have ever achieved for myself and am so pleased I asked JTT for help! Take the first step and Sandra will give you the tools you need to overcome not only drinking life but also learn so much about yourself and the strength within to enjoy life so much more.
